  Maybe they need something major to strengthen the JW's who are wavering.

  The door of the ark is closed, but you can still easily fall off the boat. D2D work is finished as armageddon is just around the corner. All ark passengers must pay for their passage in regular increments in addition to working their passage, thereby helping to keep the boat afloat. Contact with the outside world is only possible with the Captain's permission. The internet is verboten because it's the internet that stirred up all their problems in the first place. They know they will get even more shit for this, but so what, things couldn't get much worse anyway.

  District Convention Lunches... Invisibly present since... (1995)?

  my fave was roy renouf - district overseer.

  always had time for me and seemed to keep thigs real.. heard that on a zone vist he told the governing body the branch was told old and grumpy or something like that!.

  worst was michael purbrick.

  What the Watchtower needs to do to survive.

  drop its teaching on paradise earth.. the primary issue facing the watchtower results from it's teaching that members will never die, but live forever on this earth in paradise.

  this teaching is cause of most of the doctrinal failures, and will be its eventual demise.. the promise of never dying is one of the foremost motivations for people that join the religion, and the message of living forever in paradise is compelling.

  however, it is also the watchtower's achilles heel, as it forces false predictions of the nearness of the end.

  From what I have seen, the devoutness of the average JW has become diluted over the last couple of decades, particularly since the generation change

  Hours required in the ministry - reduced.

  Group study - gone.

  Meetings reduced in length.

  Publications - down to 16 pages.

  Their music, once rather militant, is now thin and reedy.

  I see witnesses appearing in social scenes that would have been unthinkable 20 years ago. A local elder sings with an Irish folk band in pubs and bars. Another wheels and deals in rental property. Still another has been bankrupted and forbidden from becoming a company director for years to come.

  Few local witneses now actively shun the disfellowshipped either.

  IMHO, the urgency has already gone and the average JW has little of the fanaticism of his predecessors.

  when my mum returned after 6 weeks she had also been converted.

  i am sure the twenty years younger and big boobs had nothing whatsoever to do with it and cannot think why he both could think of no other way of leaving and why if it was so bad it was alright to leave his kids in it.

  she beat me so bad i found out afterwards my brothers thought she was going to kill me.

  HDR photography anyone? (pics inside)

  does anyone employ hdr(high dynamic range) photography in their bag of tricks?

  in a nutshell, you take several photos of the same scene but at different exposures - from dark to very light(your aperture needs to remain exactly the same).

  you then merge them together.
